REBECCA WORDSWORTH

PORCELAIN

about

Rebecca Wordsworth is a ceramic artist based in Somerset. After graduating from university as a mature student, followed by a career as an art teacher, she decided to concentrate solely on porcelain as a material, learning to love its unpredictability and finding ways to combine this with her passion for nature.

Rebecca’s environment is her inspiration. She works with seasonal hedgerow flowers, which she immortalises by hand-pressing them directly into the clay. Gold lustre is sparingly applied to elevate the pieces further. Enjoying the challenge of new sculptural and conceptual avenues, Rebecca continues to test the organic qualities of her chosen medium.

Rebecca exhibits internationally and works to commission. Every piece she makes is unique.

“I love my Rebecca Wordsworth vases and have a collection of different heights and sizes. They’re perfect for a single stem or a bunch. Each is beautifully delicate and unique. Washing them after use is easy with a soft bottle brush, ready for the next garden picking!”

“Every piece is a unique work of art that emanates the love that was put into creating it”

“Rebecca Wordsworth is my absolute favourite ceramicist. Her work is stunning and I love that every piece is unique. Her use of hedgerow wild flowers is so clever and evocative of the Somerset landscapes I love. Her pieces make the ideal gift for a landmark birthday or special occasion. I’ve lost count of how many friends I’ve gifted these exquisite pieces to – everyone goes on to collect more of her work themselves!”
